All county assistance is considered to be a loan. Monthly payments, or workfare, is required.
Medical Assistance
Medical Assistance is available for indigent residents of Lawrence County who do not have health insurance or any other means of paying medical bills. Enrollment in the program is based on income and need.

Economic Assistance is available for rent, utilities and burials. Rent and utilities assistance may be approved once in a 12-month period.
