The 2018 General Election for Lawrence County voters will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The voting polls will be open 7 am to 7 pm on election day. Spearfish voters inside city limits vote at the Senior Citizen Center. Voters outside Spearfish city limits vote at the Park Pavilion. Whitewood area voters will vote at the Whitewood City Hall, St Onge voters at the Community Center and Nemo voters at the Nemo church. For voters inside Deadwood and outside the Lead-Deadwood area, the polling place is the Annex Building in Deadwood and Lead voters will vote at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center in Lead. Absentee voting has begun in the Lawrence County Auditor's Office in Deadwood from 8 am to 5 pm and absentee voting will also be available in Spearfish starting Monday, October 22, 2018 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Spearfish City Hall. You may vote in person, or you may also request an absentee ballot through the mail, for more information, please call the Auditor's office at (605) 578-1941. You may access the Absentee Ballot Request Form. The form must be notarized or you may send a copy of your South Dakota driver's license.

Not registered to vote? The voter registration cutoff deadline is October 22, 2018. You may register at the Auditor's office, your city finance office or any office that provides public assistance. The registration form needs to be turned into one of these offices by 5 pm on October 22, 2018 to be registered for the November election. Please use the official Voter Registration Form.
